The present invention relates to a system for controlling three-dimensional movement of a virtual object in a multi-touch terminal displayed on a screen of the terminal with multi-touch control of the multi-touch terminal and a method thereof. The multi-touch terminal includes a touch sensing unit sensing a plurality of touch point information and drag gesture information of touch point and the screen displaying the virtual object to the screen. The system for controlling the three-dimensional movement of the virtual object in the multi-touch terminal according to the prevent invention includes a posture estimation unit estimating information on a three-dimensional posture of the virtual object and information on the three-dimensional posture of a virtual camera; a movement recognition module; and a rendering engine rendering images of the virtual object by reflecting a changed three-dimensional posture of the virtual object calculated in the movement recognition module. The movement recognition module generates a reflection line passing through the virtual object while being vertical to a screen plane of the virtual camera with one or more touch point information inputted through the touch sensing unit. The movement recognition module calculates a position movement rate of the virtual object in a reflection line direction and a two axis direction which is horizontal to the screen plane of the virtual camera by sensing the drag gesture information of the touch points. The movement recognition module calculates the changed three-dimensional posture of the virtual object by reflecting the position movement rate in a three axis direction of the three-dimensional posture of the virtual subject changed by the movement recognition module.
