STEERING WHEEL AND POSITIONING APPARATUS FOR SAFETY AIRBAG MODULE

Disclosed are a positioning apparatus for installing a safety airbag module onto a steering wheel, and a vehicle steering wheel equipped with the positioning apparatus. The safety airbag module is connected to the steering wheel by means of a horn bracket. A positioning pin is provided on the bottom face of the hub of the steering wheel. The positioning pin comprises an inner metal core and a plastic-covered foam material layer on the inner metal core. A positioning groove corresponding to the positioning pin is provided on the horn bracket. The positioning groove comprises a plastic-covered material layer on the horn bracket. The positioning pin and the positioning groove correspond one-to-one in terms of position, forming an interference fit with no clearance. The use of the abovementioned structure eliminates the accumulated tolerance between assembled components, so that the installation position of the safety airbag in the steering wheel is ensured.
