PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inter-device communication system and a communication apparatus which can perform communication with slave devices more than the combination of the number of address setting input terminals while suppressing the number of input terminals necessary for address setting from the outside to the absolute minimum with respect to each of the plurality of slave devices connected to the same bus. SOLUTION: The inter-device communication system is configured to output unique fixed serial data corresponding to each output terminal from the data output terminal (Dx) of one slave device in response to a slave address setting instruction simultaneously distributed from a master device 103 through a communication line 100 to each slave device 110, 120 and 130, and to supply serial data to the data input terminal SLA of the other slave device, and to decode the supplied serial data based on a preliminarily defined function relation, and to store the data in a prescribed data storage part as individual salve addresses, and to perform communication by using the stored individual slave addresses.
