<p>This mounting head is provided with: a plurality of shaft members (23), which are arranged in a zig-zag alignment in two rows and are provided with suction nozzles (22) extending in the vertical direction on the lower end thereof; a plurality of rotary drive motors (24) that are disposed in a zig-zag alignment identical to the zig-zag alignment of this plurality of shaft members (23) in two rows and individually carry out rotary movement of the plurality of shaft members (23); and a plurality of vertical drive motors (25) that are disposed in two rows in a zig-zag alignment so as to have the opposite orientation from the zig-zag alignment of the plurality of shaft members (23) and individually carry out vertical movement of the plurality of shaft members (23). The rotary drive motors (24) have drive shafts (24a), which are oriented downward, linked to the shaft members (23) and directly drive those shaft members (23). The vertical drive motors (25) move the shaft members (23) vertically inclusive of the rotary drive motors (24) that rotate those shaft members (23).</p>
