PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite separation membrane which achieves excellent fluid permeability and separation selectivity and accomplishes high adhesion between layers of the composite membranes and high durability especially under high pressure, and a separation membrane module using the same.SOLUTION: In a composite separation membrane having a separation layer for separating fluid components and a porous layer for supporting the separation layer, the separation layer is formed from a polymer having a crosslinked structure, the maximum pore diameter of the porous layer is 0.05-0.5 μm, and the composite separation membrane has a structure such that a portion of the separation layer permeates the porous layer at a permeation rate (&eegr;a) as defined by the following formula (A) within a range of 0.1-30%.
