PURPOSE: An insulated exhaust pipe for a vehicle and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to decrease heat loss from exhaust gas passing inside the same between the exhaust manifold of an engine and a post-processing unit among exhaust units for a medium-large size vehicle or a compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle, thereby maximizing an insulating property thereof in order to improve the processing efficiency of the post-processing unit. CONSTITUTION: An insulated exhaust pipe for a vehicle includes an exhaust pipe (4), an inner glass wool layer (7), an outer glass wool layer (10), and an exterior cover (12). The exhaust pipe is connected between the exhaust manifold and a post-processing unit. The inner glass wool layer covers outside the exhaust pipe. A heat-resistant paint layer (8) for improving an insulating property is formed with glass wool which is compressed at a certain density, and coats the inner side of the inner glass wool layer at a certain thickness. The inner side of the inner glass wool layer is in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the exhaust pipe. The outer glass wool layer covers outside the inner glass wool layer. A non-woven fabric layer (11) having a certain thickness is attached to the inner side of the outer glass wool layer. The inner side of the outer glass wool layer is in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the inner glass wool layer. The exterior cover covers and protects the outer circumferential surface of the outer glass wool layer. |
