PURPOSE: Austenite steel is provided to form stable austenite phase at an extremely low temperature and to have excellent cryogenic toughness of a heat-affected zone by effectively preventing the formation of a carbide with copper. CONSTITUTION: Austenite steel is composed of 15-35 wt.% of Mn, C satisfying 23.6C+Mn>=28 or 33.5C-Mn<=23, 5 wt.% or less of Cu (not including 0 wt.%), Cr satisfying 28.5C+4.4Cr<=57 (not including 0 wt.%), and the rest of Fe and other inevitable impurities.
