PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mesh body formed of a polyethylene terephthalate which has good orientation properties and relatively high heat resistance.

SOLUTION: Split web 1 (warp web) and slit web 6 (weft web) each has a three-layered structure formed by putting adhesive layers consisting of a second thermoplastic resin on both sides of layers (principal layers) consisting of a first thermoplastic resin. The second thermoplastic resin is heat-sealable at a temperature lower than the melting point of the first thermoplastic resin. Nonwoven fabric 8 is formed by cross-laminating warp webs and weft webs via the adhesive layers of each of the webs in a way that the orientation axes of the warp webs intersect those of the weft webs. The first thermoplastic resin is a polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The second thermoplastic resin is an amorphous polyethylene terephthalate copolymer. Before cross-laminating the warp webs and weft webs, the surfaces (adhesive layers) of each web are corona-treated.
