The present invention relates to a transportation device for transporting sausage-shaped products (S), like sausages, with suspension elements (L), like loops, from a clipping machine to a handling device for said sausage-shaped products (S), like a storage device, including a bar-shaped storing element, like a smoking rod. The transportion device (1) comprises a conveying unit (20) for conveying a sausage-shaped product (S) just produced out of the clipping machine in a transportation direction (D), a catching unit (70) for catching the suspension element (L) attached to one end of the sausage-shaped product (S), and a guide unit (G) for guiding the suspension element (L) caught by the catching unit (70) to said handling device, comprising a longitudinally extending guide element (30) and supporting means (40) for supporting the guide element (30), wherein the supporting means (40) provide a passage way for the suspension element (L) to be guided along the guide element (30). The supporting means include gear wheels (42) arranged rotatably about an at least substantially horizontally aligned axis (A), engaging the guide element (30). Moreover, there are provided ratchets (50) for engaging the gear wheels (42), adapted to position a gap between two subsequent teeth (46) of said gear wheels (42) in the passage way of said suspension element (L). |
