PURPOSE: Shutter glasses for common use in various kinds of 3d(three dimensional) display devices, a method for controlling the shutter glasses and a 3D image processing apparatus for the same are provided to control opening and closing of a shutter according to the characteristics of the various kinds of three dimensional display devices, by generating a shutter control signal based on display type information. CONSTITUTION: A communications unit receives a synchronizing signal from a 3D image processing apparatus(S100). A control unit checks display type information included in the received synchronizing signal(S110). The control unit controls the generation of a shutter control signal(S120). The control unit controls opening and closing of a shutter based on the generated shutter control signal(S130).
