An internal lining panel, esp. for cars comprises an insulating layer(30a) and decorative film(2) with an injected supporting layer(40) at the back. The individual layers(40,30a) are mfd. in different materials integrally bonded to each other. Damage to the edge of the decorative film (20) through folding or other influences is prevented by covering the edge (11) of the panel (10) with an injected layer (50). A claimed process for mfg. the panel (10) involves (i) prodn. of the multi-layer panel by injecting a plastic layer (40) behind the insulating(3a) and decorative layers(20); (ii) shaping the panel(10), pref. by trimming; (iii) injecting plastic (50) around the trimmed edges of the panel(10). Pref. the supporting layer(40) is thinner at the edge (11) than in the remainder of the panel(10). A flat, smooth transition exists between the injected edge layer(50) and the supporting layer(40). USE/ADVANTAGE - For lining interior, esp. automobile interiors. Allows complex shapes to be easily mfd. and gives a secure panel mounting.
