There is provided a process for producing an alkenyl-substituted pyridine derivative using, a solid base catalyst which is obtained by heating a metal oxide selected from the group consisting of alumina, an alkaline earth metal oxide and a hydrotalcite with an alkali metal, an alkali compound and an alkali metal or an alkali compound and an alkali metal hydride under an inert gas atmosphere at a temperature within the range of 100-700 DEG C.
