PURPOSE: An apparatus for cutting papers is provided to guarantee excellent cutting quality at high precision without the degradation of cutting precision. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for cutting papers(1) comprises a transfer path(3), a pair of plate-shaped cutting blades, a base(19), and a driving tool. The transfer path guides a roll paper drawn out. The cutting blades are arranged in both sides of the roll paper in a thickness direction thereof to fit the roll paper. While the driving tool moves the base in the thickness direction of the roll paper, the driving tool presses one cutting blade arranged on the base to the paper roll positioning in front of a blade tip portion(5b) of the other cutting blade so that the roll paper can be cut.
