PURPOSE: A spindle motor is provided to rotatably support a rotary shaft and to collect oil leaking from an oil filled bearing through a ball-and-roller bearing. CONSTITUTION: A bearing assembly(20) includes a bearing(27) and a bearing housing(25). A ball-and-roller bearing(30) includes an outer ring(32), an inner ring(34) and a ball-and-roller member(36). A fixing member(40) fixes the outer ring of the ball-and-roller bearing on the bearing housing. A stator(50) is fixed to the outer side surface of the bearing housing. A rotor(60) is fixed to a rotary shaft. The rotor rotates on the stator.
