<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the delamination life (life under contaminated lubrication) of a rolling bearing by a low-cost method. <P>SOLUTION: The quantity of retained austenite on rolling surface layers of a bearing ring and a rolling element is made less than 20 vol.%. The relationship between the Vickers hardness (Hv<SB POS="POST">b</SB>) of a surface layer part on the rolling surface of the rolling element and the retained austenite quantity (γ<SB POS="POST">Rb</SB>:vol.%) satisfies an expression (1) of 5.6γ<SB POS="POST">Rb</SB>+770≤Hv<SB POS="POST">b</SB>≤5.6γ<SB POS="POST">Rb</SB>+870, and the relationship between the Vickers hardness (Hv<SB POS="POST">r</SB>) of a surface layer part of a raceway surface and the retained austenite quantity (γ<SB POS="POST">Rr</SB>:vol.%) satisfies an expression (2) of 5.6 γ<SB POS="POST">Rr</SB>+650≤Hv<SB POS="POST">r</SB>≤5.6γ<SB POS="POST">Rr</SB>+750. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
