Disclosed is a process for producing a recycled catalyst from a catalyst that is recovered in a process for producing a heteropoly acid catalyst containing molybdenum, phosphorus, vanadium or copper as an essential component, or from a used catalyst in the process. The process comprises the following steps: (a) mixing a substance (M) with an aqueous solvent and removing any insoluble component from the solvent, thereby preparing a solution (A); (b) measuring the molar content of at least one component selected from molybdenum, phosphorus, vanadium and copper contained in the solution (A); (c) adding an aqueous hydrogen peroxide to the solution (A) to produce a solution (B); (d) determining the difference between the content measured in step (b) and the theoretically determined necessary amount of the element and adding the deficit amount of the catalyst component to the solution (B), thereby preparing a solution (C); (e) drying the solution (C) to prepare catalyst granules (D); (f) shaping the catalyst granules (D) and burning the shaped product to prepare a shaped catalyst (E). The process is simple, and the recycled catalyst has the same performance as that of an unused form of the catalyst. Therefore, the recycled catalyst has such a great advantage that the catalyst can be used without any modification in combination with the unused form of the catalyst.
|
