<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of processing a distribution request from a request source so that the content request source can receive content distribution without differentiating a communication network of the Internet from a transmission path of digital broadcasting, and to provide a transmission system. <P>SOLUTION: Upon receiving a distribution request, a multicast managing part 101 of an advanced BS receiver 200 specifies a service ID by referring to an address map table for associating information such as a destination address and a transmission source address for specifying an IP packet including content with the service ID for identifying a content download service. A front end control part 102 specifies a carrier frequency of a signal for transmitting a desired IP packet from the service ID with reference to an NIT (Network Information Table).
