TREATMENT OF SMOOTH MUSCLE HYPERACTIVITY BY (R)-OXYBUTYNIN AND (R)-DESETHYLOXYBUTYNIN

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for minimizing side effects relating to administration of racemic oxybutynin or racemic desethyloxybutynin.

SOLUTION: An optically pure R(-)-isomer of oxybutynin and desethyloxybutynin is used for treatment of cholinergic property mediated smooth muscle hyperactivity to alleviate symptoms relating to bladder smooth muscle hyperactivity such as urinary incontinence and gastrointestinal smooth muscle hyperactivity such as anaphylactic enteritis syndrome.
