<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting apparatus which gives indication when an LED turn-on device is normal and load LEDs have their polarities inversely connected. <P>SOLUTION: An LED incorporating device 5 incorporates a plurality of lighting purpose LEDs 41, a diode 44 which conducts electricity when a DC voltage whose polarity is opposite to a conduction direction of the LEDs 41 is supplied to the LEDs 41, and a series connected section 40 having a display purpose LED 43 connected in series therein. An LED turn-on device 1 works in such a way that, if, during a prescribed period after power feeding to the LED incorporating device 5 begins, a DC voltage lower than a DC voltage necessary to turn the LEDs 41 on and having a reverse polarity is supplied to the LED incorporating device 5, it generates an initial output voltage in magnitude enough for the display purpose LED 43 in the series connected section 40 to emit light and supplies the initial output voltage to the LED incorporating device 5. The LED turn-on device 1 detects an initial current based on the initial output voltage flowing in the LED incorporating device 5 and determines whether or not to stop power feeding to the LED incorporating device 5 according to the value of the initial current. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
