<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power steering apparatus, which controls an assisting force with high degrees of freedom. <P>SOLUTION: The hydraulic power steering apparatus assists in steering of a vehicle with a hydraulic cylinder 21. The hydraulic power steering apparatus includes a flow control valve 23, a steering torque sensor, a steering angle sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, and an ECU. The flow control valve 23 changes the supply/drainage amount of hydraulic fluid for the hydraulic cylinder 21. The ECU sets a supply/drainage mode for supplying/draining the hydraulic fluid with respect to the hydraulic cylinder 21 based on detection results from the sensors and controls the flow control valve 23 in accordance with the set supply/drainage mode of the hydraulic fluid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
