PURPOSE: A tool holder equipped with an externally mounted dynamic absorber is provided to reduce vibration of a shank by minimizing amplitude with respect to a sleeve. CONSTITUTION: A tool holder(10) comprises a body part(14) and a dynamic absorption device(30). The body part has an exterior surface(22) and the dynamic absorption device is mounted on the exterior surface of the body part. The dynamic absorption device comprises a rigid support member(32), a cover member(34), and an absorber mass(40). The absorber mass is arranged inside a cavity formed by the rigid support member and the cover member.
