A cathode cylinder 2 is attached to a ceramic disc 10 provided with wedge-shaped circumferential portions 8 adapted when rotated to wedge the disc between a spacer 4 depending from the control electrode 1 and projections 3 pressed in the side of the electrode 1. This facilitates replacement of the cathode if the gun is to be salvaged from a scrapped cathode-ray tube. The invention is specially applicable to a triple electron gun with a convergence electrode for a colour television tube. |
