Provided herein is an isolated a canine kobuviruses associated with canine respiratory and gastrointestinal disease, and isolated nucleic acids sequences and polypeptides thereof. Disclosed are antibodies against antigens from canine kobuviruses. Also disclosed are iRNAs which target nucleic acid sequences of the canine kobuvirus. Further disclosed are methods for detecting the presence or absence of canine kobuviruses in an animal. Also disclosed are immunogenic compositions for inducing an immune response against canine kobuviruses in an animal.
