<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for notifying a user of replacement time according to the use condition of the user without influencing operation efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device predicts life end time of consumable articles based on a use history of a device (step 450). Then the image forming device sets the replacement time to a schedule closer to the life end time as much as possible and being convenient to the user (step 700).
