<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity of disposing a heat insulation material between a skeleton of a building and a metal fitting for attaching exterior wall material, disposing a furring strip for the metal fitting for attaching exterior wall material on a front face of the heat insulation material, or parting a heat insulation material layer by columns and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A metal fitting 1 for attaching exterior wall material comprises: a forward overhanging part 2 projecting forward; a base part 3 rising up from a rear end of the forward overhanging part 2 and attached to and along a skeleton side member 20 (a skeleton itself or a substrate material) without a heat insulation material 21 interposed therebetween; exterior wall material engaging parts 5, 6, at least a part of which is provided in the vicinity of a front end of the forward overhanging part 2; and heat insulation material receiving parts 24, 25 which is formed in a portion between the rear faces of the forward overhanging part 2 and an exterior wall material 15 and the skeleton side member 20, and receives one end portion of the heat insulation material 21.
