<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time until the printing starts, and to shorten the time until the printing finishes when executing print processing by automatically switching a plurality of paper feed trays. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a plurality of paper feed trays including movable plates 131 on which recording media are placed; a movable plate driving motor 140 lifting each of the movable plates 131; a tray selection unit 12 selecting the paper feed trays corresponding to the recording medium for which the print processing is executed from the plurality of paper feed trays on the basis of information on image data included in a print job when setting information specifying the paper feed tray for use in the print processing is not included in the print job; and a device control unit 14 controlling the movable plate driving motor 140 so that the movable plates 131 of at least two or more paper feed trays are located at positions allowing the feed of paper out of the paper feed trays selected by the tray selection unit 12 at least during the execution of the print processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
