The disclosed communication system and the like can minimize degradation of channel-estimation precision when performing OFDM wireless communication using a plurality of carriers with a prescribed bandwidth. In said system, in which OFDM wireless communication is performed between transceivers using carriers with a prescribed bandwidth, a known first signal such as a reference signal is laid out using a fixed subcarrier interval. When a transmitter communicates with a receiver using a plurality of the aforementioned carriers, said transmitter sends the receiver an OFDM signal in which the aforementioned first signal is laid out across the plurality of carriers using a fixed subcarrier interval. The receiver extracts the first signal from the OFDM signal received from the transmitter.
