The plant has a lift station (10) arranged between two transportation tapes (4, 5) in transport direction. The lift station comprises a lifting platform (14) i.e. scissor lifting platform, for a motor car (12). Four support surfaces for an underbody of the motor car are provided at the platform that is surrounded by a shroud (20) and bellows (17). The shroud comprises a positioning aid (22) for front wheels (24) of the car, and the platform is arranged at 0.3-1.6 m above the shroud in a raised position. The support surfaces are provided with hard rubber overlays.
