PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-fed printer capable of eliminating paper of needle regulation failure by printing on paper, a dummy pattern for detecting a needle regulation failure while improving work efficiency. SOLUTION: A printer 30 including an ink-jet nozzle or an ink permeation type stamping mark or a thermal transfer printer head is mounted, by a mounting tool 31, to needle devices 4, 5 or a feeder board 2 or the like near the needle devices 4, 5 provided at a paper feeding part 100 of a sheet-fed printer such as an offset sheet feeder 1, and after needle regulation by the needle devices 4, 5, the dummy pattern 24 is printed on the side edge of the paper. After printing, paper of the needle regulation failure is detected and eliminated based on the presence/absence of the dummy pattern 24 on the side face of the paper. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
