PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an image sensor of easy circuit configuration which outputs a signal determining whether large change is the change of an actual image or the change resulting from noise when the large change is generated in a pixel signal. SOLUTION: In the image sensor with: a plurality of sensor elements 24; and a reading circuit which reads a detection signal, wherein the reading circuit is provided with: a storage capacitor C1; a sample-and-hold capacitor C2; a first input gate circuit Tr5 between the sensor elements and the storage capacitor; a switch S/H between the storage capacitor and the S/H capacitor C2; and a second input gate Tr8 provided between the sensor elements and the S/H capacitor; a plurality of pixel circuits 21 provided corresponding to the respective sensor elements; and a scanning circuit which reads the signals. The scanning circuit performs a first scan operation for reading signals obtained by transferring detection signals of the sensor elements 24 stored in the C1 via the Tr5 to the S/H capacitor via the switch S/H, and a second scan operation for reading detection signals stored in the S/H capacitor via the Tr8.
