PURPOSE: A method and device for recording data of an odd are provided to record data with high speed by calculating and searching a location which starts recording data from a lead-out area of the optical disk to an opposite direction if recording only a small amount of data in one part of the optical disk. CONSTITUTION: A connection unit(19) is connected to a host. A record(15) records data received through a host in an optical disk. A controller(17) confirms a data amount recorded in the optical disk to calculates a data write starting point from lead-out area of the optical disk to an opposite side. The controller records data in the high sped from the data write starting location. The controller performs interface operation with the host before data recording and confirms a data amount.
