PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact breaker in which the contact reliability of a contact unit is improved. SOLUTION: The breaker includes: a contact unit 2 having fixed contact points 21, 21 and a movable contact point 20 that comes into contact with the fixed contact points 21, 21 in an attachable/detachable manner and which is arranged within a hermetically sealed container 6; a movable shaft part 3 provided in such a manner that at least part thereof protrudes to the outside from the hermetically sealed container 6 and which is capable of moving the movable contact point 20 back and forth with respect to the fixed contact points 21, 21; a metal bellows 4 one end side of which is fixed to the hermetically sealed container 6 and at the same time, the other end side of which is fixed to the movable shaft part 3, and which contracts and extends in accordance with the movement of the movable shaft part 3; and a lever unit 5 capable of moving the movable shaft part 3 back and forth between a closed electrode position where the movable contact point 20 comes into contact with the fixed contact points 21, 21 and an open electrode position where the movable contact point 20 is separated from the fixed contact points 21, 21. In the breaker, the contact unit 2 is arranged within the hermetically sealed container 6, and therefore, it is possible to improve contact reliability between contacts.
