PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify dimensional control of a fan guard and its configuration, and to improve work efficiency in mounting the fan guard to a horizontal wind direction plate base. SOLUTION: This air conditioner comprises the fan guard 10a for preventing hand-contact with an air distribution fan, the horizontal wind direction plate 8 disposed on a supply opening, and the horizontal wind direction plate base 11a on which the fan guard 10a is mounted, and the horizontal wind direction plate 8 is rotatably mounted, and which is fixed to a main body. The fan guard 10a is composed of a plurality of longitudinal bars 22 formed into the L-shape as a whole by curling a wire rod into the U-shape, and bending an anti-opening portion side of the U-shape at a right angle, and having a gate-shaped engagement portion at the anti-opening portion side of the U-shape, and a plurality of transverse bars 21, and the horizontal wind direction plate base 11a comprises gate-shaped groove portions engaged with the gate-shaped engagement portion of the longitudinal bars 22, holding pieces 26 having groove portions engaged with the transverse bars 21, and hinges (small) 31a and hinges (large) 31b for fixing the gate-shaped engagement portions.
