PURPOSE: A broadcasting service receiver and a broadcasting service providing method are provided to display specific contents for the loading and auto tuning of a broadcasting service. CONSTITUTION: In case a contents setup command for standby is received, a broadcasting receiver establishes contents for standby according to the received contents setup command(S1000,S1010). In case the contents setup command for standby is not received, the broadcasting receiver selects the contents for standby on the basis of at last one of a display timing and a display number(S1020). The broadcasting receiver loads a requested broadcasting service(S1040). The broadcasting receiver displays the contents for standby on a screen(S1050).
