PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight wiper apparatus having a pair of pivot shafts. SOLUTION: A DR side pivot holder 26 and an AS side pivot holder 25 are individually fixed to a vehicle and only a coupling rod 36 is disposed between the pivot holders 25 and 26 to save a pipe for coupling the pivot holders 25 and 26. The overall weight of the wiper apparatus 20 can thus be reduced. The elimination of the need to form pipe mounting portions on the pivot holders 25 and 26 can improve the moldability of and reduce the weight of the pivot holders 25 and 26. The elimination of the step of mounting the pipe on the pivot holders 25 and 26 can simplify the assembly of and reduce the costs of the wiper apparatus 20. The provision of the coupling rod 36 between the pivot holders 25 and 26 can modularize the wiper apparatus 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
