<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for suppressing a variation in the output of a gas turbine compressor with durability secured. <P>SOLUTION: This compressor 100 includes a plurality of rotor wheels 120 disposed around a compressor rear section 170 having a low alloy material, a plurality of intake air guide vanes 180 disposed around a compressor inlet section 160, and a wet compression device 190 disposed around the compressor inlet section 160. In another preferred embodiment of this invention, a method for operating the compressor under variable ambient temperatures is also provided so that the output of the same level can be maintained. This method includes a step of positioning the plurality of intake air guide vanes 180 at the extended positions until the ambient temperature reaches a predetermined design ambient temperature, a step of moving the intake air guide vanes 180 to the open positions when the ambient temperature exceeds the predetermined design ambient temperature, and a step of operating the wet compression device 190 when the ambient temperature exceeds the predetermined design ambient temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
