[Also in Divisions Cl and C2] A herbicidal composition comprises a compound of the formula: wherein R represents a hydrogen -atom or a hydrocarbon or halohydrocarbon radical and R<SP>1</SP> represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, or an ester or salt of said acid, together with a carrier and/or a surface active agent. The compositions are suitably applied in an amount to give a rate of application of the active compound of 4-30 pounds per acre and may also contain other herbicides, insecticides, fungicides or fertilizers. Suitable carriers are finely divided solids, organic solvents and water and the compositions may also include wetting agents, dispersing agents, emulsifying agents or aqueous emulsions or other conventional additives such as corrosion inhibitors or anti-foaming agents. The compositions may be formulated as dusts, solutions, water soluble and dispersible powders, aqueous dispersions or emulsions or high-strength compositions and applied in a conventional manner. |
