PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus for reducing the generation amount of sludge with water containing a multivalent amino carboxylic acid compound and a polyester resin as a treatment object. SOLUTION: The water containing the multivalent amino carboxylic acid compound and the polyester resin is turned to a treatment object, and the water treatment apparatus includes: a Fenton treatment means for performing Fenton treatment of the water; a flocculation treatment means for adding an inorganic flocculant to the Fenton treated water to which the Fenton treatment is performed and performing flocculation treatment; and a pH adjusting means for adjusting the pH of liquid after adding the inorganic flocculant to be≥pKa(3n/4) and≤pKa(n) when a dissociation constant for the dissociation of n pieces among the n pieces of carboxyl groups that a multivalent amino carboxylic acid compound has is defined as pKa(n) and a dissociation constant for the dissociation of 3n/4 pieces is defined as pKa(3n/4).
