PURPOSE: An electric bicycle is provided to drive the DC motor with the pedaling of the user without separate power supply and prevent the torque of the motor transmitted to the drive sprocket in the reverse rotation of the motor. CONSTITUTION: An electric bicycle comprises a drive sprocket(5), pedals(11), a gear, a DC motor(30), a battery(40), and a drive control unit(50). The drive sprocket is coupled to a rotary shaft(10) via a boss. The DC motor comprises a drive shaft which contacts the gear and a revolution sensor which detects the torque transmitted to the drive shaft and outputs a signal to the drive control unit. The drive control unit controls the drive of the DC motor. A one-way clutch is installed between the rotary shaft and the boss so that the torque of the boss by the DC motor is transmitted only to the drive sprocket, not to the rotary shaft. |
