PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the number of steps that a user accesses internet if a user tries to access the wireless internet. CONSTITUTION: A display unit displays a wireless internet menu on a data broadcasting service screen. A wireless communication unit(110) receives wireless internet access. If a wireless internet service is requested through the wireless internet menu, a controller(180) acquires authentication information. The controller displays a web browser screen on the display unit.
