<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably provide information such as commodity to customers in a store. <P>SOLUTION: The information service system 100 has one or more infrared transmission terminals 2 set in a store corresponding to the kind of a commodity or the category of a commodity, respectively, and an infrared receiving terminal 3 which can move inside a store. The infrared transmission terminal 2 has an infrared port 22 which transmits information about a commodity at least a plurality of times successively. The infrared receiving terminal 3 has an infrared port 32 for receiving information transmitted from the infrared port 22 and a display unit 35 for output of the received information.
