PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing Pogostemon Cablin for preventing or treating inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases is provided to suppress inflammatory bowel disease. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases contains Pogostemon Cablin extract as an active ingredient. The Pogostemon Cablin extract is obtained by extacting water, alcohol of C1-C4, chloroform, hexane, ethyl acetate, or acetone. The composition additionally contains Trichosanthes kirilowii extract as an active ingredient.
