PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable absorbent article which has a flap showing excellent form stability in a raised state by imparting rigidity to the flap. SOLUTION: In the disposable absorbent article 1 including an absorber 5 which has an absorbent core 4 between a top sheet 2 and a back sheet 3 and has a longitudinal direction and a width direction and the flap 6 provided along both side edge parts in the width direction of the absorbent core 4, the flap 6 has a fixing part 7 joined to the absorber 5 and a rising part 8 extending upward from the fixing part 7, and an elastic member 11 is intermittently provided in the longitudinal direction on the rising part 8. The flap 6 may have a folding part 10 which extends from the rising part 8 and is folded at an upper edge 9 of the rising part 8. In this case, the elastic member 11 is intermittently provided in the longitudinal direction between the rising part 8 and the folding part 10 and is joined to the rising part 8 and/or the folding part 10.
