ALUMINUM-BASED SLIDING ALLOY AND CASTING APPARATUS FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE: An aluminum based sliding alloy and a casting apparatus therefor are provided to improve fatigue resistance since Si particles are densely precipitated in an alloy layer and thus an aluminum based sliding alloy layer is more hardened. CONSTITUTION: An aluminum based sliding alloy comprises Si. The Si is precipitated in the observation field of the alloy in a particle form. The maximum diameter of Si particles is 0.01~7.5μm. The whole area of Si particles(5) of 5.5μm or less diameter occupies 95% or more of the whole area of Si particles in the observation field. The alloy has the average area of the whole area of the Si particles when being measured by a region splitting technique.
