PURPOSE: A connection method for steel pipes using automatic piping and automatic welding system is provided to automatically weld the exterior surfaces of steel pipes using an automatic welding carriage and automatically weld the interior surfaces of the steel pipes using an automatic welding robot. CONSTITUTION: A first steel pipe(P1) is arranged to in a pipe construction section. One of the circular bodies(111,112) of a steel pipe shaping and joint apparatus(100) is installed around the first steel pipe in order to clamp the first steel pipe. A second steel pipe(P2) is pulled up with a lifting device and the other circular body of the steel pipe shaping and joint apparatus is installed on the circumference of the second steel pipe in order to clamp the second steel pipe. The pulled-up second steel pipe is led to the first steel pipe with the steel pipe shaping and joint apparatus so that the second steel pipe is inserted in the first steel pipe or the first and second steel pipes are connected in contact with each other. The steel pipe shaping and joint apparatus is separated from the steel pipe. An automatic steel pipe exterior welding machine is installed on the circumference of the first or second steel pipe and automatically welds the exterior of the joint part of the steel pipes in the circumferential direction. An automatic steel pipe interior welding machine is inserted in the steel pipes and welds the interior of the joint part of the steel pipes.
