PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane resin emulsion; wherein when used for a water-based coating, a dried coating film of the water-based coating has equivalent impact resistance compared with one using a conventional polyurethane resin emulsion and has superior solvent resistance and water resistance to one using the conventional polyurethane resin emulsion. SOLUTION: The polyurethane resin emulsion for a water-based coating contains a polyurethane resin (U) and water, and satisfies following (1) and (2). (1) The polyurethane resin (U) includes a polymer polyol as a constituent unit, having an alicyclic hydrocarbon group and a number-average molecular weight of 400-5,000, and a content of the alicyclic hydrocarbon group is 5.0-40.0 wt.% based on a weight of the polyurethane resin (U).
