PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing assembly capable of obtaining a load acting on a rotary member, and suitable for a machine tool. SOLUTION: A spacer 2b with an annular encoder function in which a V-groove 3 has two oblique parts (circumferential boundary characteristics different in two rows) is provided in a rotary member 6 between two bearings 1b, 1c to detect a change in phase difference of a pulse signal of two oblique parts of the spacer 2b with the annular encoder function detected by the rotary sensor 4, so that the load acting on the rotary member 6 can be calculated from the phase difference of the pulse signal, and the annular encoder can be provided in the spacer 2b between the bearings 1b, 1c so as to be suitable for the machine tool.
