The device (10) has a horizontal plate (11) on which a glass support (12) is assembled to maintain glass in a horizontal position. The support moves the glass on the plate in two co-ordinate directions (X, Y). A drilling unit (14) is overhung above the plate and moved in translation along a vertical axis (Z). The drilling unit includes multiple heads (15) equipped with a drilling tool (16) and a milling tool (17). The tools simultaneously realize circular cross drilling and lateral notch emerging into an edge area of the glass, during the descent of the drilling unit towards the glass.
