<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount a base on a cold-cathode discharge tube lamp rapidly and surely. Ž<P>SOLUTION: After the base (1) and a guide (5) are prepared, the base (1) is pinched by jig pieces (6) of the guide (5), and the base (1) is supported by the guide (5), and in addition, tapered faces (7) of a semi-conical shape are assembled to form a tapered face (17) of a conical shape. A glass tube (9) of the discharge tube (8) is inserted into a cylindrical body (2) of the base (1) supported by the guide (5), while the tip (11) of the outside lead (10) of the discharge tube (8) protruded from the glass tube (9) is guided along the tapered face (17) of the conical shape of the guide (5), the tip (11) is arranged in a connection part (4) of the base (1), and the base is mounted on the discharge tube.
