PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a shaft having an internal tooth profile part by which the internal tooth profile part is formed inside a tubular material and also a chamfered part is efficiently manufactured on the inner peripheral surface of the side on which the internal tooth profile part is formed without generating burrs and to provide a shaft manufactured by the method. SOLUTION: The chamfered part the inside diameter of which is gradually reduced toward the inner part in the axial direction from the opening part 11 in the end part in the axial direction of the tubular material 1 is formed. Next, an internal teeth forming die 4 is inserted from the opening part 11 on the side on which the chamfered part is formed.
